I am pretty passionate about child passenger and car seat safety. Some of my followers may know this, as I have been working with projects for this topic for several years now. Plus, Child Passenger Safety Week is approaching this month. That’s why I agreed to feature these KidsEmbrace Character Car Seats on my blog. While my own kids may be slightly too big for one these seats, KidsEmbrace sent a sample for my contributor to test out with her son.
Making Safety Fun
Safety is a priority for KidsEmbrace. The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) named their seats a “Best Bet Booster.” They also meet or exceed the standards for the US- Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213 (FMVSS 213), Canada- Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213 (CMVSS 213), and European- European Regulations Safety Standard ECE R44; markets. KidsEmbrace products have tested for side impact environments suggested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and designed the head support to be deep and large in order to maximize its side impact protection. They are members of the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA), and received the 2017 Family Choice Award.
My Thoughts about the Product
One of my favorite things about these seats is that kids find the characters cool, so they fight less about sitting in a car seat and buckling up. Also, the seat grows with them, so there are different settings for the seat belt, harness, back and headrest. The seat is a combination harness and high back booster seat. The padding is also very comfortable on the back and headrest, and there are two cup-holders where the character’s hands align with the cups. There are seat belt protectors as well, which prevents your child from the belt rubbing along their face and neck area. The seat easily straps into the car, and has a tether anchor to help decrease risk of head and neck injuries. This seat style is approved for forward-facing use for children between 22-65 lbs & 29″-49″ in height.
The Avengers line comes with the options for Captain Marvel (male version), Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Black Panther, and Spider-Man. We selected Spider-Man, though the model we have is not available on the site at the moment. They do have an older version for a discounted rate. KidsEmbrace has other licensed character options on their site as well.
My contributor shared that she’s happy that she can use it for her older son as a booster and then can also use it for her toddler son (once he is forward-facing) with just a few adjustments. For fun, we put him in to see if he’d like it, and you can see here that he does. Her husband installed it in his car, because he thought it was cool looking. My husband said that he wishes they made something like this for adults at home. 🙂
