With Christmas (and Dittles’ birthday) just around the bend, it’s a fine time to experience some Christmas magic with Santa Claus. As a kid, I remember writing letters to Santa, and sending them to the North Pole. My kids had the opportunity to do this the other day while attending an event with Santa Claus himself. He had them drop their letters to him in a mail box. So now they are expecting some kind of response.
And then, with a bit of Christmas luck, I came across Portable North Pole (PNP) via a friend of mine. PNP, launched in 2008, allows Santa to send personalized video messages and calls to children and adults all around the world. Their website is certified COPPA-compliant (Kidsafe), which makes it even better. My friend was so enthused by the offerings of this site, that she was helping spread the Christmas cheer by introducing it to others. And thanks to her, I was given access to a “Magic Pass” to try it out for myself and now I am partnering with them to share it with you all too!
There are two main PNP video themes: Christmas and Birthday. Some of the video types are offered for FREE! Or you can purchase a Video Pass or Magic Pass (which lets you access video and calls) to get more Santa screen time, extra personalization options, more photos, and incredible scenes from his village in the North Pole. The passes last until September 30th of the following year after your purchase. The Magic Pass is available for $13.99 and the Video Pass is available for $9.99 in the US, which is extremely affordable for the amount of joy it will bring your kids.
Portable North Pole Videos
Since Dittles is about to have her birthday, I decided to go ahead and make a birthday video for her.
I had a choice of the free version or the premium one. Since I had the Magic Pass, I opted for the premium one of course! And then I got a chance to personalize it for Dittles with her name, gender, birthday, location and even her photo! The photo can be uploaded from your computer, phone or Facebook.
And once I was done, I was able to download an HD version in an mp4 file. It also allows you to share it to FB and via email to your family and friends! The process was super quick and took me less than 5 minutes to make it. Here is the video below……..
Portable North Pole Calls from Santa
In addition to videos, you can also schedule calls from Santa. These calls can be made throughout the year, for achievements and PNP even has ones for when the recipient has been naughty. (They even have calls for Adults).
The personalization process is similar for videos and calls, and all of your creations are readily available in your account. You can preview the call and it has a button that you can click when you are ready for Santa to call the recipient.
Portable North Pole Mobile Apps
What’s even better is that you can take PNP with you, via their free downloadable app. This app is compatible with Apple’s devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod), as well as most Android phones and tablets. The PNP mobile app features access to the Free and Premium videos, exclusive games, synchronization with your own account on the web and much more. The app even has a kid’s corner for your child to play games and more. I especially love that you can use it to record your child’s reaction when they watch the video. (Being that my daughter’s birthday is not for another week, she has not had the chance to watch it yet and I can’t wait to see what she does).
Portable North Pole Toys & Gifts Collection
These gifts are so ADORABLE! There is everything from girl & boy elves, to a good deeds jar, to a traveling elves case where your elf can sleep. But my absolute favorite is Hani the Reindeer! I contemplated ordering him for Dittles’s birthday. He comes with a code to personalize a video from Santa. You can find all of the items on the website, but in order to purchase them, you need to visit John Lewis online. There is a direct link in the listing to purchase the item you want. I did discover that the items ship internationally, but the pricing was still affordable. While Hani lists on the site for just $10.50, he comes to about $26 when you factor in the shipping.
Social Good
You guys know how much I love social good projects and helping others. In an effort to spread more holiday cheer, PNP distributes 5% of all its web sales to over 40 children’s hospitals around the world through its Children’s Hospital Program.

Overall, I look forward to making videos for my kids for Christmas and beyond. After watching them myself, I can only imagine the amazement with which my kids to watch them.
