Once again this year, the Dolphin Mall hosted a group of South Florida Bloggin’ Mamas for a special day out to check out what they have in store for Back to School & more!
As with most of us planning to shop for back to school, we made a day of it as a family. We started off with a visit to Starbucks for my Tall Java Chip, because you all know how I love my iced coffee drinks and caffeine is definitely needed when you are going to be shopping for hours. #MyMister played it safe with some water, because keeping hydrated is also very important. Of course, the kids grabbed some milk and cookies so that they wouldn’t get hungry & cranky while we were shopping.
Then Dolphin Mall gifted us with bags, school supplies and other goodies for the kids. There were giftcards for Bloomingdale’s and an American Express giftcard to go shopping with. There was this super cute Kipling Baby Backpack from the Kipling store too! Since we don’t need the changing pad, I took it out. It has lots of pockets and a square shape, with was perfect as a personal item on our flight to NYC the next day. The straps were comfortable and my daughter & I wore that thing all over Manhattan, Brooklyn and New Jersey. I found it in the outlet for $80.99.
Our first shopping stop was to Bloomie’s of course. The Dolphin Mall has a Bloomingdale’s Outlet, so the pricing is awesome! They were running a 50% off sale on clearance, and I was able to snag a couple of name-brand steals for the kids (and myself). #Mymister and the boy hightailed it out of there to go shopping at the Nautica outlet. He is a big fan of their polo shirts and he got a discount via their text club.
Then we headed to the Nike outlet store to shop for some sneakers. We all know that back to school shopping would not be complete without some sneakers. I grabbed a pair of whites for myself for just $29.99.
Our stomachs began to grumble for food. We were able to stop off at the CineBistro cinema and grab lunch while watching the Minions movie, which had just come out the weekend before. The theater is pretty cool and my kids loved being able to eat a meal. They didn’t even need to fill up on popcorn or other unhealthy snacks. The seats are very comfortable and my kids got a kick out of the movable trays.
In the bag, there was also a pair of flip flops from SoftScience for me. We swapped it out for a black on black pair of Skiffs for #MyMister. (I prefer open-toed sandals because I hate anything between my toes). They are $39.99. #MyMister wears them all over the house. He said they almost feel like he is walking barefoot.
After that we made our way to Justice, where my daughter got a pretty cool shirt in preparation for our New York trip. It is soooo Dittles, don’t you think? This shirt cost $29.99, but I had a Justice giftcard that helped with the price. Though, they had a whole back room of items you could get at crazy good prices.
After a long day of shopping, you can head over to Cool de Sac for a gourmet dinner, while your kids work out the rest of their energy playing. You can head home knowing you won’t need to cook dinner and your kids will probably fall asleep easily that night. Happy Shopping!

Dolphin Mall is an enclosed value retail/entertainment/dining destination with an 850-seat Food Court and more than 240 retailers. It is located just five miles west of Miami International Airport, where the Dolphin Expressway and the Florida Turnpike intersect.
