If you’ve been following me, you KNOW I am a bonified coffee lover. You might even know I like my coffee like a dessert with flavored creamers, syrups, whipped cream, etc. So when Starbucks invited me to come taste their new Caramel Flan Latte, I was on it.
Much of my private clientele are in Downtown Miami & Brickell, so I gladly headed over to the Starbucks in Mary Brickell Village in between meetings. There’s nothing like a mid-afternoon pick me up and I appreciated the personalization and intimacy of a private tasting.
My Thoughts
Honestly, I loved it! While it didn’t exactly taste like flan, it was delicious. So many coffee concoctions targeting the Latin population use the old standby of Dulce de Leche, but they usually come off too sweet for me. (Yes, I know that my coffees are desserts, but I have to draw the line somewhere.) This coffee has the dessert feel I look forward to when I treat myself to a coffee outside of my house.
Product Info
Starting January 7th through March 3rd, you can check out this coffee nationwide. Inspired by flan, the Caramel Flan Latte incorporates the signature Starbucks Espresso Roast, fresh steamed milk and rich flan syrup, topped with a caramel-infused whipped cream and a soft layer of caramelized drizzle. (Can you say food porn?)
You can get it hot, iced or as a Frappuccino blended beverage (my favorite). Of course with the cool weather we’ve been having, the hot version will really warm you up.
Buy It
This latte starts at $3.75 for a Tall (12 oz cup) and is available in company-operated and licensed locations for a limited time in the US and Canada.
I’m a sweet and fancy coffee lover as well and tried this new one the other day and loved it! I also did not get a strong Flan flavor but that’s okay by me since Flan is not one of my favorite desserts but it did have a creamy smoothness along with the caramely sweetness that I really enjoyed.
Wow, that sure sounds like something I would enjoy. I surely will get a taste of it and enjoy during the chilly weather. Awesome.
I loved it also. It did remind me a lot of their creme brulee, making me wonder if they weren’t just trying to attract the Latin population:)
Kiki, Of course they were trying to attract the Latin Population. 🙂 Miami is full of latin americans and they were making an effort to offer something cultural.
