I’ve been considering getting a new phone. My screen protector cracked off in the corner, and my case started deteriorating at the buttons, which I think means it’s probably too old to stay viable for my current content creator requirements, lol. (My phone is so old that it was the last one in stock from that line because it was updated, but I liked just one feature the updated model did not have.) I’m the type that will keep a phone for years as long as it still works, but I am in need of something quicker and more conducive to my work. So it’s time to move on. I have been checking out phones at Best Buy because I have a Best Buy credit card which offers 5% cash rewards or flexible financing (which currently would be no interest for 18 months if the phone is $479 or more, or for 6 months if it is $199 or more). I’m an Android type of girl, so I am beginning to check out Android phones for my upgrade. My cell service is Metro, which is owned by T-Mobile, so I need to be mindful of what phones will work with my service. The following is a product feature of one of those phones I am looking at:

Sony Xperia 1

Capture stunning photos and cinematic footage with this unlocked Sony Xperia 1 smartphone. A triple-lens camera system and advanced autofocus technologies make it easy to take stable, detailed images and capture 4K videos. This Sony Xperia 1 smartphone has a 6.5-inch 4K OLED touch screen that brings out the detail in captured footage and streaming videos.

Sony Xperia 1 Phone

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor

The octa-core processor and 6GB of RAM deliver outstanding overall performance for opening and running applications, flipping through menus and more.

My Thoughts: This sounds like a heavy duty processor. I mean, it’s almost as strong as my souped-up laptop. I could really use the ability to do things quickly.

Android 9.0 Pie OS

Adapts to you and the way you use your phone, learning your preferences as you go. Your experience gets better over time, and it keeps things running smoother and longer.

My Thoughts: The OS is updated, as to be expected with a new phone. I like the idea of it running smoother and longer over time. Usually it’s the other way around.

Compatible with GSM carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon

It also works with GSM SIM kits, including Cricket Wireless, Tracfone, Net10, H2O, AT&T Prepaid, and Simple Mobile.*

My Thoughts: Sweet, because my service is Metro, which uses GSM Sim cards.

4G LTE speed

This Sony Xperia cell phone provides fast web connection for downloading apps, streaming content, and staying connected on social media.

My Thoughts: This is a given. I mean, even my old phone has this. Now the question is, will it adapt to 5G?

6.5″ 4K HDR OLED touch screen with 3840 x 1644 resolution

The extra-large screen is matched with a slim body to comfortably fit in your hand. The 21:9 extended display ensures easier multitasking and immersive viewing. Gorilla Glass 6 resists shocks and scratches.

My Thoughts: I like that it has Gorilla Glass. I’ve dropped my phone about a thousand times, and my current screen with Gorilla Glass is still intact. The extra large shape will match up to my current phone, so it won’t be hard for me to adapt it in my hand. The resolution is strong, which I think will help with my content creation needs.

12.0MP triple-lens camera system

Offers 21:9 cinema ratio, 4K HDR movie recording, and 2x optical zoom to capture details without losing quality. Also includes an 8.0MP front-facing camera for self-portraits and videos.

My Thoughts: This was a feature that was being raved about on another phone, and yet this phone comes at a steep price difference (with the special offer below). I plan on doing more videos this upcoming year, so the ability to record in 4K HDR is amazing!

Motion Eye

Lets you capture slow-motion videos at up to 960 frames per second for staggering films.

My Thoughts: This seems really cool. I think it would open up more of my creativity as I think about videos I can make in slow motion. I’m sure it would be great for food videos.

BIONZ X image processing engine

Powerful digital image processing produces even more vivid colors and ensure contrasts are high.

My Thoughts: Image quality is so important in my industry. And as a business owner, it’s so important to showcase your imagery in a clear, professional-looking way.

Optical SteadyShot image stabilization

Keep your images free from motion blur with SteadyShot image stabilization.

My Thoughts: This is probably my favorite feature. A lot of my photos and videos are shot one-handed while I am navigating through an amusement park, a live event or some activity involving a lot of motion.

128GB internal memory plus microSD slot

This cell phone provides plenty of storage space for your contacts, music, apps and more. Expand your storage by up to 512GB by adding a microSD card (sold separately).

My Thoughts: I currently have only 16GB internal memory, and a 64GB microSD; insufficient for my needs as I take thousands of photos each month. I even have to delete apps in order to use new apps. A 128GB would allow me to download more apps, and then expand to 512GB for my tons of pictures and videos I am creating.

Sony’s audio expertise always by your side

Hear music as the artist intended with high-resolution audio. DSEE HX™ improves the quality of low-resolution music files. The smart amplifier delivers a loud, rich sound through the speaker.

My Thoughts: Sony is a trusted name in audio, so this is no surprise. Since we sometimes stream music through our bluetooth speaker or car, this would come in handy for high quality sound. It would also make listening to podcasts more efficient, as the words would be more clear.

Your fingerprint keeps your phone secure

Hold your finger on the fingerprint sensor to unlock your phone.

My Thoughts: This is a cool option that keeps others from accessing your phone if you put it down or lose it.

IP68 rating

The phone is protected from dust and can also withstand being submerged in 4.92′ of static water for up to 30 minutes.

My Thoughts: This is something I need. I am sure I am not the only one who accidentally dropped my phone in the sink before. I hate having to replace a phone for such a small and quick incident.

* SIM card is not included. The cell phone will not work with Sprint, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, or any other CDMA network.
