My Rant: Housecleaning (continued from last week)

As some of you may know, I don’t get to let my hair down until I am finished cleaning on a Friday. With two small children running about, and trying to work the business all while cleaning the house, it can be quite frustrating and tiresome.

Everyone has their own pattern of cleaning. Some people clean once a week, some people every day. Some people have no schedule and some people just clean when they can’t stand the sight of the mess anymore. OR some people clean when company’s coming over.

It’s funny how many of us during a giving point in the day, find our houses a wreck even if we clean daily.  I used to rely on cleaning on just Friday, but I have come to learn that that is not enough. I do try cleaning things everyday, and it is so frustrating how quickly things get dirty again. I wish you could Armor All & RainX the entire house, so dirt and water would just repel off the surfaces.

I used to have carpets because I loved waking up to carpet on my toes, but then I had kids. I’m not sure what it is, but kids seemed compelled to stain your carpets no matter what. When my husband and I were looking for our new place, one of the first requirements was that there was no carpet. Now I am happy to say that our floors are either tile or bamboo laminate. Yes, much easier to clean then carpet. Yes, I have to clean a lot more because every grain of dirt shows up on tile, but it is so worth having a nice shiny floor to look at.

At the moment, I can’t wait until my little ones can do chores unsupervised. They create more work than it is worth, but I know that eventually they will be able to do it themselves.

Who here hates housecleaning? Do your kids already do chores or are they still too small?
