I was invited to participate in the Future Fortified campaign to spread awareness for its’ efforts. This is a bit about them: “Future Fortified is a campaign of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). We help millions of women and children in developing countries get access to the essential nutrients they need to lead healthy, enriched lives. Our goal is to increase access to improved nutrition for 50 million women and children by 2015.” They use sponsors, small investments, and partners to help fund programs that teach people about nutrition.

  • My initial thoughts on the Future Fortified campaign and its goals:

I believe that proper nutrition is essential for not only saving lives, but allowing people to feel healthy. Their goal is big, but I believe that if we join in, we can reach it together.

  • Let me tell you about Home Nutrition Packets:

While reviewing their site: http://www.futurefortified.org I came across a tab that said Home Nutrition Packets, which interested me. So I checked them out and found out that they are small packets that can be sprinkled onto the regular food people eat to ensure they are getting the proper nutrients they need for the day. They combine vitamins and minerals, and vary by the region where they are brought into because they are designed to enhance the local diet without changing it. Plus they only cost about three cents each, so they can allow people to get healthy for a lot less money.

  • Why I wanted to get involved?

When I heard of this campaign, I was inspired to spread the word about it because it is a global goal that crosses political lines and country borders. This campaign is about being human & making sure our fellow humans are living healthy lives. I like that you can do even small things to help out.

  • Check out the campaign via social media, as this is where their bigest outreach efforts lie:
