Last Thursday (March 21st, 2013) I had the opportunity to celebrate the launch of DJs NERVO’s new single ‘Hold On’ during spring break’s Winter Music Conference & Ultra Music Festival. The launch party, sponsored by COVERGIRL, was  held at The SLS Hotel (Hyde Beach) from 6p-11p.

Just prior to the event, I literally missed the bus, the #COVERGIRLbus that is. The COVERGIRL makeup/mani bus was stationed outside the hotel, offering the public a chance to try their latest products. The spring break traffic (auto & foot) was killer. It literally took 15 minutes to pull into the hotel entrance. Fortunately, I was still able to grab a quick mani inside the event.

You might not be able to tell, but my nail color matched my outfit. The color is from COVERGIRL’s new Outlast collection, which is meant to stay brilliant for up to a week. (Between you & me, it lasted 3 days afterward. That’s actually an accomplishment since I am mom who washes dishes, etc. Since my nails are naturally long, the ends usually chip off in a day.)

I also spent some time with some fellow bloggers. We all got nail colors to match our clothes.

We also scored some mascara by the COVERGIRL vending machine. Yes, there was a machine that you could choose makeup and colors from, pay and it would be dispensed. How cool is that?

I loved the cigarette girl-style passing out of samples of COVERGIRL’s new Clump Crusher mascara.

The beautiful pool lounge area was made complete with themed pillows. (The VIP open bar didn’t hurt either.)

And because this did take place during a music festival and was themed around a music single launch, there was plenty of music pumping throughout the night (courtesy of NERVO & elektro friends). NERVO took the stage towards the end to debut the single.

At one point, we hung out in the back where there was a laid back vibe.

We also checked out the work of graffiti artist Alec Monopoly. I was so busy mingling, I missed out on meeting CG’s Latina celebrity manicurist @NailsByMarYSoul as well as the hors d’oeurves, which were provided by Katsuya.

Overall a pretty cool night. I love getting out and about, especially when it’s just Mom-ME time! Oh I should mention that I met the DJs at the end & they were so sweet. I think they will go far with that kind of attitude. Be sure to check out the new COVERGIRL items I shared about above.

Disclosure: All opinions expressed above are my own. I was not monetarily compensated for this post, though I did attend the event, receive samples and a few drinks at no charge. I did pay for my valet.
