Disclosure: I am sharing this as part of a Bloggin’ Mamas Social Good Campaign. I was not monetarily compensated for my support.
If you know me, you know I have a big heart for moms. That’s why, when I was approached by Tekiosk to assist them with sharing about this mom’s story, I gladly agreed. In Oaxaca, where cultural richness meets resilience, a single mother and community volunteer, Socorro Ruiz, has been a beacon of hope. From providing food and shelter after devastating earthquakes to offering emotional care during the global pandemic, Socorro has tirelessly served her neighbors.
Why This Matters
Now, Socorro needs our help. Through the Walk A Mile In Her Shoes campaign, MCO and Tekiosk are raising $30,000 to build her a sustainable home before the rainy season. Donations of $80 will receive a pair of beautifully handcrafted artisan shoes as a thank-you, with ALL net proceeds funding this eco-friendly home.
This home, constructed using ancestral techniques, celebrates Oaxaca’s cultural heritage while providing Socorro and her children the safety and dignity they deserve.

Let’s honor Socorro’s journey and bring her the stability she has given so many others. As a mom, I know why it’s so important to have a good roof over your family’s heads. I hope we are able to reach this goal, to make this home a reality for Socorro and her children.
