Ever been to a family house party and your drink options included beer, vodka, rum and maybe tequila? Chances are the men in the group don’t like what they deem “girlie” or “fruity” drinks, so they force you to babysit your (non-lite) beer or down straight shots because they won’t buy flavored alcohol or even juices to sweeten things up. Cocktails are not even in their vocabulary.
Now imagine there was an easy & quick option for you to mix your own cocktails without needing bartender training and just 3 ingredients (water, your choice of liquor and this one product that you can carry in your purse). Let’s add on that this product is 100% Natural and adds 0 calories to your liquor. Sounds improbable right?
I know, but remember anything is possible. And since I know you are dying to find out what this product is, let me introduce you to Skinnies™. They offer the first Zero Calorie, all natural cocktail mixers. They don’t use preservatives, aspartame and artificial colors. For flavor and color they use fruit and plant based extracts. For sweetness they use stevia and erythritol (a sweetener extracted from melons) that gives a smooth and balanced taste to Skinnies™ Cocktails.
All the flavor of a perfectly blended cocktail with none of the sugar and calories – what’s not to like? Skinnies™ – cocktail mixers – make a perfect cocktail every time. No guesswork. In fact, no work at all. Just mix 1 Skinnies™ packet with 1.5 ounce of your preferred rum, vodka or tequila and 4 ounces of water, shake or stir and enjoy!
I recently requested samples of Skinnies through a giveaway we were hosting last month. They mailed me a sampler of three flavors they currently have available: NY Cosmo, Baja Margarita, and Maui Mai Tai. I found videos and recipes on their site on how to prepare the cocktails…….
Making a Skinnies™ Cosmo:
- 1 Skinnies™ packet
- 4 oz of water
- 1.5 oz of vodka
- Mix in a shaker with ice
- Garnish with a twist of lime
Making a Skinnies™ Margarita:
- 1 Skinnies™ packet
- 4 oz of water
- 1.5 oz of tequila
- Mix in a shaker with ice
- Garnish with a slice of lemon
Making a Skinnies™ Mai Tai:
- 1 Skinnies™ packet
- 4 oz of water
- 1.5 oz of rum
- Mix in a shaker with ice
- Garnish with a wedge of pineapple
You don’t need to stick to the instructions above. They are the simplest, low-calorie steps. You can experiment with different liquors, and get creative with your drinks. The key here is that these pre-mixed packets allow you to work with what’s available.
I, myself, prefer adding Sprite to my vodka drinks, so I figured I’d try 2 versions of the drink with the NY Cosmo packet: One with water and One with Sprite.
I liked the flavor so much, I decided to try this Vodka experiment with the other flavors. (I did not have any Rum in the house and I avoid Tequila like the plague unless it’s Tequila Rose).
Of course if you like to add Sprite like me, you can add Sprite Zero to keep the calories down. But let’s face it, there will probably not be diet sodas on hand at the next family party so you might want to bring your own.
