In case you haven’t noticed, we love the Care Bears at my house. We get to review a lot of movies as part of our job, so the Care Bears sent us their latest release: Care Bears: Mystery in Care-A-Lot, just in time for Halloween to check out.

The DVD from Lionsgate contains three separate episodes: Nightbears, Sleuth of Bears, and Welcome to Grump-a-Lot. It runs for 66 minutes altogether. When I opened the packaging, in addition to the DVD, I found a code to access the movie via UltraViolet.
The kids and I decided it would be best to watch the movie at night, together in their room. They have bunk beds, so I laid next to Papo and Dittles went up top. Dittles said she is scared of sleeping on the bottom bunk because she has seen so many scary shows and movies lately due to the impending arrival of Halloween.
Fortunately, this movie was so docile that it seems perfect for little ones and even school-age kids. (Mine are 6 and 7). Nightbears shows that Care Bears don’t always have sweet dreams and how people should address them if they do. Sleuth of Bears delves into locating Scare Bear, a legendary scary Bear, thereby showing kids how to address their fears head-on. Welcome to Grump-a-Lot was pretty impactful as it shares with kids how choosing positivity over negativity, can make the world a better place for all. Overall, we thought it was really cute and sweet. My daughter was very excited when it finished, as she discussed everything that happened in each of the episodes. My son, on the otherhand, fell asleep at the end. He was so peaceful, and not afraid, that he could just fall asleep unaided.
